BM Keenum reports from the Southern Electrical Retirement Fund meeting that the plan posted a net gain of 7.18% for the year 2009. That is over a 20% improvement from 2008, maybe a sign of recovery in the economy. Brother Keenum asks that everyone check their statement when you recieve it and make sure the hours are correct for the year 2009. It will be easier to correct errors if caught early. The statements should be ready to be mailed out in the next few weeks.
The Local will be accepting sealed bids on our 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis car. The bids will be accepted until 6:00pm March 18, which is General Meeting night where the bids will be opened and the highest bidder may purchase the vechicle. This car is still in pretty good condition, the mileage is 281,654, and is starting to use a little oil, but still runs very well. This would make a good "road" car, on the trip to the Convention in 2006 we got close to 30 mpg on the Interstate.
We are adding a guestbook page where members can post their suggestions and ideas to our Negotiating Committee. Please do this ASAP as our Negotiations start this month. (March 2010)

This website is dedicated to the proud members of the IBEW, both locally and abroad, working to provide quality service and products to our customers.
Partnering with our Electrical Contractors, NECA members, BEJATC members (apprenticeship program), and the people we do work for, we are forever striving to become the most dependable, best educated, productive workforce available.
We are committed to live by the objectives of the IBEW, to promote a higher standard of living, assure job security for our members, and assist each other in sickness or distress.
We offer this website not only as a forum for information relevant to our members and their families, but open to those electrical workers who might get an insight as to who we are, what we're about, and why we welcome them to become part of our "Family".
This is a preview of the upcoming website, other pages are under construction.
